OATSTRAW (Avena sativa) - Oatstraw (Avena sativa) is the green top of oat plants, harvested before they are completely ripe. It’s one of several cereal-grain species and annual grasses that are planted in autumn and spring. The plant grows in temperate regions across the globe. The straw is harvested when the seed is in the milky stage.
A VERSATILE INGREDIENT - Oatstraw is the perfect addition to a relaxing hot bath. Or use it to make tea by adding 1-3 teaspoons to a glass of boiling water. Mix it with red raspberry leaves or dried lemon balm for a relaxing and flavorful hot beverage. It is also used to make oatstraw vinegar for cooking needs, and as an ingredient in DIY lotions and bath products.
FLAVORFUL AND AROMATIC - The taste of oatstraw is soft and mellow. It’s mildly grassy, herbaceous, and slightly sweet with a fresh scent. Oatstraw blends well with most tea herbs.
ORGANIC FROM THE U.S. - Frontier Co-op Organic Oatstraw Green Tops are grown and processed in the United States. The straw is harvested during the seeds' milky stage to deliver the best results. There are no artificial additives or chemicals used. Our product is kosher certified, 100% organic, and non-irradiated.
